Last year, VWBPE began featuring groups formed in virtual worlds, which focus on advancing education, advocacy, collaboration, and professional practice. This is our way of giving voice to the groups that support others.

Members of these moderated panels will discuss who they are, what they do for others, and the projects and highlights of their practice. We hope to continue this tradition every year by featuring different groups.

This year, we will spotlight three wonderful and unique groups in our featured panels. We begin our first panel in AvaCon Grid, with a behind-the-scenes look at Seanchai Library and how they have managed to maintain a live storytelling library.

We are also fortunate to host Virtual Ability, Inc., one of the most well-known advocates and peer support groups for people with a wide range of disabilities. They will share how collaboration, research and peer support are the hallmarks of their work in the community.

Finally, we round off our featured panels with NonProfit Commons who have served as a voice and platform for talent and best practices. They will share how they have built this community and helped contribute to some of the best dialogue in the virtual space of Second Life and beyond.

While there are simply too many wonderful organizations and groups to have them all speak this year, we hope to highlight more of them at VWBPE conferences in the coming years.
