VWBPE 2016 Takes a Bow

We have reached the horizon. The sun is setting on another year of VWBPE. We can look back on four days of the most amazing presentations, social events, networking, and discussions that we have seen to date. There is much that we can say, a great deal to appreciate, and an endless parade of memories to store away.

However, we are not quite done. If you haven’t joined the Passport to the Metaverse, you have just a couple of days left to join the questers in the search for badges and new immersive experiences. See our calendar for details on the Immersive Experiences. Additionally, the wonderful and varied exhibits are still open through the 27th of March.

Next year, we will be looking at ten years of memories for VWBPE 2017: Legacy. It is our legacy. It is the time to look back, then look forward, to take stock of how best practices have evolved over the past nine years. It is the time to commemorate those of you who began this great journey so long ago, and those who have created the path for others to follow.

Legacy is coming. Gather ‘round the virtual fireside and bring your memories, your stories, your accomplishments, so that we may celebrate them. Legacy will mark not only ten years of great research, amazing best practices, and lasting networking, but a new beginning for VWBPE, a moment in time when we will transform this virtual conference into a nexus of interactivity and engagement.

VWBPE17 will introduce a new Virtual Science Fair. Teachers, get ready for this call: it will be coming in May! Subscribe to our mailing list (at right, below the Search field), if you have not already done so, to stay current with developments. For the moment, ask yourself these questions:

• What is the “science” of my discipline?
• How do my students and I create experiments, simulations, etc. to learn key concepts?

We are planning so much more. Our legacy will shape and transform throughout the coming year.
