The VWBPE 2017 Conference is coming up March 29-April 1, 2017 and we need sponsors to help with some of the costs. This will be VWBPE’s 10th Anniversary and we are hoping to make it a special one.
The VWBPE conference runs entirely off donations from large and small sponsors alike. Unlike other peer-reviewed conferences, no committee member receives a salary or stipend. It is through the generous contribution of people who care deeply about education and the role immersive environments play in education that this conference is possible. All funds go directly to supporting the conference program and maintaining the VWBPE archives throughout the year.
The entire conference runs on a budget of approximately $5 per person. For that amount VWBPE provides networking, research, keynotes, peer reviewed content, transcribing voice to text, access to presentations throughout the year, conference proceedings, live video feeds during the conference, video archives, and more.
Your contribution also helps ensures that our conference is accessible for persons with disabilities. VWBPE provides opportunities for people with disabilities to have meaningful engagement in all aspects of our conference including leadership and skills development opportunities.
Over 2000 attendees representing over 60 countries participate in online presentations including theoretical research, application of best practices, virtual world tours, hands-on workshops, discussion panels, machinima presentations, and exhibits. You do not have to be a formal academic to participate. Our community includes those in the education field, those that support educators through products and services, and those accomplishments, and creative works, have been inspired by curriculums involving digital media.
